INTRODUCTION
Inflation is situation of persistent and general rise in the price of commodities, inflation can occurs where price of some consumer commodities rise during festive periods or a situation where a temporary disruption of the production and supply rise in the market price of the particular commodity.
Inflation undermines one very important quality of money that is stability of value and a cardinal function of money as a store of value, wealth stored as money loses value over time because of the effect of inflation, so are deferred payment and debts fixed in monetary terms distorted. In this case debtors gain while creditors are the losers in time of inflation. The director of change may either be upwards in which case, the situation would be described as inflationary.
Also to determine the causes of inflation price is by forces of demand and supply, since the two determine price, a change in any cause a change in the general price level.
